The church Matt works for decided to hold me a baby shower last Tuesday. What a blessing! About 15 women showed up, most of the pastors wives and people on staff. Even the head pastors wife came and organized the games. There were people there I have never met. I have never felt more loved, their generousity and support was overwhelming. That they would take the time to put this together, find babysitters and actually show up for someone they didn't even know? I got a ton of diapers, bathy stuff, gift cards, all of the things I totally needed and could use. It was so nice to hang out with a bunch of women and have the time to get to know them. I felt like part of the family. What a great example of God's love. Thank you Jesus! and Thank you Cornerstone Chapel!

Elmo the Fish - RIP
The day has come when our fish Elmo, Gillbur, or whatever name Nathan has called it has officially gone belly side up. The cause of events that lead up to his death include very dirty water, a water change and one day later the shock of it all. He was found edged between the rocks. This is the longest we have had a fish, 3 weeks and counting. It was a bitter sweet day. Matt was probably the most affected, Nathan was pretty impartial, and I am a little relived hat I don't have to feed the fish twice a day(shhh). Down the toilet he went, I have a feeling this is not the end of our fish journey.

County Fair - Truck and Tractor Pull
We splurged and went to the fair last Friday. It was half-off day and the kids and parking were free. We paid a total of $9 ($3.50 admission and $1 each for the tractor pull). We saw a bunch of animals, petting zoo, a magic show, illusion show, and Matt's favorite "the truck and tractor pull."
This was our first time going to a tractor pull and I had no idea what to expect. I obviously knew tractors pulled something. Basically these trucks or tractors hook up to a sled that has weight and resistance then it pulls it down a dirt strip. The one who pulls it the quickest and fastest wins. Oh by the way it was loud beyond belief. Probably not the best thing for an Audio Engineer, but you cant get between a man and raw power. I found the tractors more fascinating then the trucks. They let out a ton of smoke and some fire and went up on 2 wheels. We went with a young couple from church who were experienced attenders. Apparently this is common out here in farm country. We ended up leaving early around 9:00pm to get the kids fed and in bed. Overall it was an experience I would repeat.

Ants Attack..
We had a fun incident this morning. I was outside holding the baby and Nathan was playing when all of the sudden Nathan started screaming. A scared hurt scream. I ran over to him and he was playing with a ball that had been under our trailer for weeks. There were a billion ants all over Nathan, his shirt, shorts, everywhere. I took off Nathans shirt and swatted many of them off then ran to the truck with Nathan, set the baby in the back seat, and continued to strip Nathan down and swat off all those ants. Nathan is fine, and I keep feeling like there are ants on me. One of the many joys of parenthood, I am grateful that they were not red ants and that they did not bite. Now we know where ants in your pants that make you do the boogy dance came from.

FISHING FRIDAY!
Ok so most of you already know that we have Taco Tuesday (tacos for dinner and renting a Redbox DVD), Southern Sunday (fried chicken, sweet tea, etc) and now a new tradition "Fishing Friday". Matt takes Nathan fishing for a few hours and I get some alone time:). It's a Father son bonding thing, Nathan feels special, and he gets some much needed one on one attention. Last week they made a tackle box out of an old ice cream bucket, it actually turned out pretty good.
When they came back from their big adventure they brought home a fish. Since they didn't catch anything Matt took Nathan to Petsmart and bought him a 13cent feeder fish. Nathans new pet fish lives in Nathans room and he has been named "Elmo". Nathan was so excited about his new fish, we went upstairs quite a few times just to look at it. It's the little things in life. As silly as these little traditions are, they really give us all something to look forward to throughout the week.
